New features

This page provides information on the new features and tools available in our site.

Responsive design

The new site makes use of responsive design meaning that on any device, from the smallest smartphone to the biggest ultra-wide display, the page layout will adjust to suit the screen size to make the best use of available space.

Factsheets

Our new factsheets gather together all the information we have on individual disorders in one place - incidence, survival, prevalence, the specific data we collect and publications. Simply choose a disorder from the tree menu on the Factsheets page.

Statistics customisation

It's easier than ever to customise the information you see on our statistics pages:

Selecting disorders

To choose specific disorders, click them in the tree menu on the left of the page. On the Incidence page, multiple disorders can be selected (just one on the Prevalence and Survival pages) and you can also use the 'show traditional groups' button at the top of the page to make selections based on the ICD10 classification. Where you see a '+' icon in the tree menu, a group can be expanded to show subgroups. When you make changes to your selected disorders, the charts and tables on the page will update automatically.

Changing how the statistics are broken down

By default, you will see statistics for all age groups and for both males and females combined. If you want to remove certain age groups or to see the male/female split, hold your mouse over (on a computer) or tap (touchscreen) the box at the right of your screen with the blue triangles. This will open a panel to let you make changes.

Downloading statistics

There are two options for downloading our statistics information.  Charts can be downloaded as images (PNG format) or you can download the data that is used to create the image in CSV format. You can download the data in tables in CSV format. Just click the download buttons underneath the chart or table you want to download. If you want to use our charts or data in your own work, we've added a handy 'cite this' button to give you all the information you need to make your citation. Please note that image downloads for graphs are not currently working properly on mobile devices. We’re working on this and hope to have it fixed soon.

Key findings

Our new Key Findings section has easy-to-read summaries of themes from our published research - this section will grow over time, so check back often.

Prognostic indices

Our new prognostic calculator tools allow you to enter clinical data to view individual prognostic scores - ideal for checking from your smartphone in a clinic. Calculators are available for myelodysplastic syndromes (IPSS and IPSS-R), marginal zone lymphoma (IPI), follicular lymphoma (FLIPI), mantle cell lymphoma (MIPI), large B-cell lymphomas (IPI and R-IPI), Burkitt lymphoma (IPI) and Hodgkin lymphoma (IPS/Hasenclever Index).

New resources

Our Resources section now contains a handy glossary and a reference table of the individual ICD-O-3 codes that make up the diagnostic groups that are used across the site.
